Fat Tuesday 2011 is here! Fat Tuesday is the biggest day of Mardi Gras! Celebs who love to celebrate Mardi Gras include Harry Connick Jr, Nicolas Cage, Laurence Fishburne and many more. Ash Wednesday begins Lent for Christians. Harry Connick Jr celebrated Mardi Gras in New Orleans this year.

Catholics in countries across Europe and the Americas celebrate Mardi Gras. The Mardi Gras celebration is known as Carnival in several countries. Mardi Gras parades, parties and general displays of excess can be found on the days leading up to Ash Wednesday.

The biggest Mardi Gras city in America has built a brand and economy around the festival and is expecting a record-breaking 3 million-plus people this year.

The New Orleans Mardi Gras festivities can be broken down into three attractions. There are the private balls held by membership organizations called Krewes. Fat Tuesday features the most floats and parades of any other day of the Mardi Gras festival with 22 floats and seven parades this year.

While New Orleans is the most notorious city to celebrate Mardi Gras in America, other parties dwarf the Big Easy's two months of parades.

This year, Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras and Shrove Tuesday are celebrated Tuesday, March 8, 2011, the day before Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. What is Paczki?
